Personel Experiences with disabilities in school

One of my experiences with school when I was younger was not very pleasant in middle school because for one thing whenever I needed help I rarely received it and most of the time I was just left in the dust with nobody but myself for help . Another thing my middle school never did for me was test me to see if I had any mental or learning disabilities but in after I was out of that horrible school I was finally tested for a learning disability I was put into the RSP program where I got the help I needed. -Admin Erick S.

The word STUPID silence people

I have been called many names in life but what really gets to me is being call STUPID the word that hurts all who is suffering from disabilities. It may not sound hurtful but when your suffering from disabilities alot goes on in your and that has to be, being call stupid in school to us that's disrespectful that hurt so much that it just distorys are self-confidence in life making us less risk taking in life and taking opportunity because we're scared that we might mess it up because how much of little mistake we made in life and how much we were call stupid for making those little mistake. The word stupid silence, us because we're scared to be call it again so we just sit in class until the day comes were we can open up again which may after high school, college, or even life itself.

Disabilities striving for the right college

High School students with disabilities look forward for college as a second education to life but the hard part for them is searching for that college with the disabilities program right for them most colleges don't even have a disabilities program. like me for example the college I want to go to is just barely building a disabilities program for there college. It's hard for people with disabilities to cope with this complex system that we have in America, but hey we strive to find the best fit for us and we strive to move forward in life.

Bullying on the disabled

I was sitting down minding my own business, while a teenager was bullying a mentally ill kid. I felt disappointed in myself because I just let him bully and he cried and Just sat there cry for someone to help him. I should of stood up for him and not let him have a horrible day after that.

Disability struggles with education

When your a student who has a disability it puts pressure on you because all that goes through your head is knowing that if you can keep up with the other students or if you can handle the class work or homework or knowing that your even going to get through school. Schools across the country need to do is create or improve their disabled learning department that way disabled students don't have to worry about being left behind work and can stay on top of their education like the rest of the students.

Memories of A Long Beach school

When I was a sophomore in a school that shell not be name in Long Beach had a terrible special education program for those with disabilities the teacher didn't even try to help me the help he gave us was "get the answer from the computer" which I can't lie I did but that's not the point the point is that the teacher didn't even try to help us all he did was talk about the economy issue or his family issue he even let us cheat on the final because he didn't even understand the problem that's another issue some teachers are getting when they don't even know the subject they all ways tell us that their post to teach biology instead of world history what kind of B's is the school giving us there just their to past us along to the next teacher like it's their problem now. Also this 6 period B's is dumb we only get 45 min of teaching that ain't sh*t we students need at least a 1hr and a half of teaching in order to get the basic of the subject down. I remember when we only had 4 periods and each were a 1hr and 45 mins each which gave the teacher plenty of time to give a 30 min lesson on the subject then another 30 mins to work on today's worksheet or book pg then the rest of the time was helping students who didn't get, understand it better for them like kids with disabilities or any student who didn't get it.
